
ABOUT
Michael has a long history operating private businesses having served as the President of Atlantic Media (as well as CFO and COO) for the past 15 years. The brands he has operated include The Atlantic, National Journal, Quartz, Government Executive, Ballast Research, Gravity Research, Long Dash and Citylab. During his tenure, the company nearly tripled in size, launched numerous new brands, and completed seven divestitures with an aggregate enterprise value of over $400M.Prior to his time in digital content and information services, Michael spent 10 years in management consulting focusing on corporate strategy, finance, and operations across a variety of industries. He has served as the board chair of Digital Content Next, a director of the board of The Magazine Publishers Association, and Dean's Fellow at Darden School of Business.Michael is married with three children. With what little free time he has available to him, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and golf. He graduated with honors from the University of Virginia and has an MBA from the Darden School of Business.
